Personal Statement
Hi my name is Tanner Wix. I am a 6’ 6” 325lb Senior at Hudson High School. I have played football ever since I was in the 5th grade. The first time I played organized football I fell in love with it instantly and I knew this was something I really enjoyed doing and am passionate about. Since that time I wanted to improve at playing my position so I started to train in the off season. I have been training in the off season for my sport for about 5 to 6 years. I have been diligent and committed to molding and honing my abilities and skills in football. I have played guard and tackle on the offensive line throughout my career to date. I love football because it’s a team sport. I feed off the enthusiasm of my teammates, the drive, determination and effort it takes for just one play to go off without a hitch. It is what feeds my motivation during practice and game play. I would characterize myself as a dedicated, honest, hard-working, compassionate and coach-able individual with leadership skills. I have had a great deal of support throughout my life from coaches, family and friends in regards to fulfilling my dreams of playing at the most competitive level of football possible. They have given me monumental amounts of motivation and courage to strive towards my goals and not let anyone tell me otherwise. Although I have not played on the varsity squad until my junior year I feel I have a great deal to offer any collegiate football program. On and off the field I have faced adversity and skeptics, but have used those comments and bumps in the road as fuel to push me to be the better player and person. I am used to hard work in the classroom and on the field. I believe football is my pathway to an education, a career and my future.
