Football has been a positive force in my life for as long as I can remember. When I was just two my siblings and their friends started using me to fill positions in their back yard games. At seven I entered my first organized football league, and I have never stopped playing.
Through football I have learned more than athleticism; football has taught me essential skills needed in all aspects of life. I have gained cooperation and leadership ability in addition to building my work ethic and fortitude resulting in immense physical and mental strength. Largely because of my experiences in sports, I have seen and come to appreciate the reciprocal nature of respect and the importance of being a good role model as well as being a representative of my team and my larger community. I understand, both on the field and off the field, you will never get back more than you give.
I am a goal-oriented person and my persistence makes me successful in athletics, academics, and life. I have always planned to attend college and become a veterinarian. Continuing to play football while attending college will open an opportunity for me to strengthen and build upon life skills that are inherent to sports, so to me it is a goal worth pursuing.
