My name is Nick Kudick and I am a junior at Mauston High School, located in Mauston, Wisconsin. Ever since I began playing football in kindergarten, playing college football was always a dream of mine. I knew I would have to work hard, and I knew I would have to play successfully at the high school level before I would be able to play at the next level. As a junior, I played and started both ways on my varsity football team, at corner and wide-receiver, and was on my way to a likely all conference season for both positions before I suffered a season ending hip injury. Although not the end to the season I was hoping for, being unable to play helped me realize the love I had for the game of football, and helped me become a better, more supportive teammate. While only being able to play in 5 games this year, while I played I was my team's leading and most consistent receiver and corner, as I recorded 0 drops on the season and didn't allow a TD to be caught by an opposing receiver as well.
As important as football is to me, nothing is as important to me as my academics. An academics first mindset was something stressed upon me at a young age, and that is something I'll be forever grateful for. As a student, I've been able to maintain a 3.96 GPA through high school, and I plan on keeping that above a 3.95 throughout high school.
As I near the end of my junior year, I will look to find a college that suits my needs both academically and athletically and one my family and I can agree will give me the best chances of success after college.
