Personal Statement
From the very beginning I have kicked with my left foot…although I write, bat, and throw with my right hand. During youth soccer I earned the name “Thunder Foot”. In youth football I played quarterback and did the kicking because it just seemed like I could kick farther and more accurately than the rest. I started to enjoy the pressure put on me to make those kicks in game.
During my sophomore year, the varsity kicker was injured during our first game and I have been the varsity kicker ever since. Since that season, my only goals have been to improve my kicking and to get the grades required to kick at the college level.
When I attended my first Kohl’s Training Camp in July of 2020, I was motivated by my performance and even more so by the fact one of the Kohl’s coaches approached me afterwards about individual training. I learned the value of having an experienced coach and working hard to improve my technique. During this past football season, it was rewarding to see the results.
My primary goal is to get the best possible college education that I can and I definitely want to make football a part of that experience. I want to play, and I am willing to put in the work to keep getting better and better.
