Personal Statement

I've been playing football since I was 8 years old. I've been a QB my entire life, but switched to WR my sophomore year due to an outstanding QB ahead of me. After only 2 years of playing WR, I have accomplished 1st team all conference, 1st team all region, 1st team WFCA all state, and 2nd team AP all state as a junior. As a result of being named to the all state teams, I anticipate being named to the Milwaukee all area team and the Kenosha all county team. These have not yet been posted.
I was elected team captain as a junior. Kids look up to me because of my work ethic, they see that I finish every rep in every activity that we do. I prefer to be a quiet leader and lead by example, but can be very vocal when needed. I was also a lifting team captain. My team (1 of 6) won the lifting challenge we had that took place throughout the entire Summer. I have a one way 40 minute commute to school and often have 6AM lifting sessions. This takes added dedication and commitment. Playing college football is DEFINITELY something I aspire to. It has been a goal my entire life.
I would like to play football for the University of Wisconsin. I grew up a Badger fan and have several family members including my father that attended the University. Beyond that, I would prefer to focus on Big Ten schools due to their high academic standards and outstanding football programs. Further, they are close in proximity and my parents could watch me play. However, I am not limiting myself to the Big Ten and would welcome any other opportunities.
Academics are of the highest importance to me, and I am currently enrolled in a majority of AP and Honors courses. I would like to play at the highest collegiate level possible. While I'm not discounting anything, I do realize that academics and a good education will ultimately be my ticket. I would like to contribute as early as possible on a college football roster.
