Personal Statement
My name is Sean Rietveld. I am 6' 2" and weigh 185 pounds. I can run the 40 meter dash in 4.7 seconds and could bench 275 pounds last year as a junior in highschool.
My most important accomplishments are making the varsity team in basketall as a sophmore, junior, and mostlikely a senior. I was basketball team captian as a junior. I have started varsity since football started at our school last year. I was team captain as both a junior and a senior in football. In track I recieved "Most Improved" award as a sophmore and set our school record in discus as a junior. As a junior I was the MVP for our football team and made the all-conference first team and all-state team in basketball, football, and track. I plan to do the same as a senior. I have been a member of National Honors society for two years and am the club treasurer. I am also a member of 4-H, Science Club, and FFA.
As a team captain for two years in two different sports I feal as thought I have strong leadership abilities. I am hard working and never take a day off. I strive to be the first in all drills and take time off practice to perfect both my skills and the skills of others on my team. As of now our football team is 8-0 and I fully beleave that these are the results of practice during the off season as well as dedication during the reagular season. My dream since I was very young was to play on a college team, no matter the level.
I would like to go to school in either Wyoming or the surrounding states. This would put me closer to my home and where I grew up. Locations to me is not a big deal.
I am open to all different college division levels and especially DII or DIII schools. I would like a realativly smaller school of no more than seven to eight thousand. Again, I am not to selective on the size of the school.
My desired major is Architectural Engineering. My second choice would be a History teacher and coach.
Realistically my athletic goals are to play on a DII or DIII football team. My overall goal is to improve myself and to help the team. Making an impact is my true goal.
