Personal Statement
My love for sports originated from my dad. He often shares stories about his memories as a student-athlete. Hearing about his experiences inspired me to create my own sports stories. I started playing recreational basketball at the age of six. By the age of ten, I watched NBA and college basketball with more intention, hoping to use those moves at my games. Watching NBA greats like Steph, LeBron, and Kobe inspired me to be the best player possible. One of the biggest obstacles I’ve had to face was being the youngest in my class and not having the same height advantage as my peers. Despite my challenge, I started on every team (rec, middle and high school as well as AAU) by working on the skills that I COULD control. I’m a leader on and off the court, and I am a well-disciplined player who is not afraid of a challenge. Through the years, I have learned that I have a competitive nature and a winning mentality, which I hope will help me with my ambitions to compete at the collegiate level.
I aspire to be a second-generation college student. My parents have always set high character, academic and athletic standards for me and my brother. They have influenced me to keep a good reputation and to operate in integrity. I plan to graduate in the top 25% in my high school class and complete my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
