Personal Statement
I started playing basketball when I was 4 years old. To me, college basketball has always been something I knew I would love to do.
Offensively, I'm able to score both inside and outside. In the last few years, I've been developing my skills as a true point guard; not just scoring the ball, but also distributing and making plays for my team. To me, a good assist is just as satisfying as scoring myself.
Defense has always been the part of the game I've loved the most. When I was younger, I had a coach tell me that even though my shot might be on some nights and off other nights, defense is the one part of the game that's always consistent. That stuck with me, and from that point on I loved defense. Forcing a turnover and turning it into points on the other end is one of the most rewarding things in the game to me, and I think that's why I love defense more than a lot of other players do.
Off the court, I'm involved in many clubs, including Student Government, National Honor Society, Scholars Bowl, and Math Team. One of the things about myself that I take pride in is that I've made straight A's every year I've been in school, and I expect nothing less from myself in the years of school I have left, including college.
