Hello coach ,
My name is Antaveus Brown, I am a 19-year-old student at Highline College in Des Moines, WA. I am 6’5” ,177lbs, shooting guard/wing/point guard. My GPA is 3.36 average and I will graduate with my associates in criminal justice in June 2018. I will have three years of eligibility to continue playing the game that I love to play. I have grown so much in just two years. I spent the summer playing against Pro Am players, division one, and overseas players. A goal that I have come in and immediately make an impact on your team. What I feel I will bring to the team is my shooting skills, competitive attitude, ability do defend all positions, and also being a good teammate. I'm driven to be great at everything I do from school to being on the court.
As a senior in high school I played on the Varsity team for 3 years under the coaching of Rich Gutwein and the assistant coach of Chad Williams. I also play on a 17 U club/travel team, Phoenix Soldiers with coach David O’Dell. Between all three of my coaches and my father they have truly taught me that discipline, dedication, studying the game and hard work pays off. I have loved the game of basketball ever since I was 6 years old.
Even though my high school is a smaller school, in the season of 2014-2015 we made it to the quarterfinals for the state championship and in 2016 to the championship game. As a result of my handwork on and off the court I was selected for the first team All State Arizona. I have been taught that it’s not only about basketball; but my education is primary. I graduated with a 3.4 GPA and scored a 1280 on my SAT’s. I was number 55 out of a 280 in my graduating class. My goal is to continue to study Kinesiology in college and continue to work on improving my basketball skills. I love to work hard and facing challenges to get better. I am a winner and I have goals not just as a basketball player but a a young man in society. I am looking for a coach who wants that kind of young man and player. My dedication is top notch! I will be that player you can depend on and and off the court! Down below, I've attached my new skills video from Highline College. I hope you can watch it!
