Personal Statement
The game of basketball isn't just a game to me, It's a game where I like to take the opportunity to prove I am the best. Every lose we take, I look at it as something to learn from and fix it. I communicate with the team when I see something that could work. I was raised where basketball games is where it brings the whole community together and have fun. But me as a player, I try to come out with a win but also show respect. Being aggressive and strong is something I work on to help me move.
Being a Native American, I like to help out my people and give back to my community. Living on the reservation, it's hard to experience a lot of what is happening. When I'm off the court, I like to apply some of my athleticism in real life like working on my communication skills and being aware of things. applying these will help me in the game with communicating with my teammates and being aware of where everything and everyone is on the court.
Being able to play the sport helps me in a lot of ways. A major defect in our community is drugs and alcohol. But the sport of basketball is very well know for bringing families together and all about having fun. Being in the game, it's all about competition and winning, but the crowd is what makes it all fun.
