Personal Statement
I love basketball. There is nothing I would ever rather be doing. When I am not playing, I am watching. I am a student of the game and I love watching great players and coaches do amazing things that most other people don't even notice. I am often not the most physically gifted player on the floor, but I believe that I am usually the most effective. My goal is to be a complete player--to be able to play any position, against any opponent, to score, defend and rebound better than anyone else on the court. I believe I have a unique ability to understand and anticipate what my opponent is doing and to exploit his weaknesses. I think I am a naturally good shooter and ball handler and possess the ability to consistently create scoring opportunities for myself and my teammates. I feel like I am developing a complete game and can score in many different ways as dictated by what the defense is giving me. I am definitely a gym rat and I believe that I am improving every single day. I suspect am going to be a late bloomer physically because of genetics. My older brothers were all undersized until their senior year in high school. But as I continue to develop physically and remain dedicated to getting better ever day, I am completely confident that I can play and excel at the next level.
In addition to basketball, I am striving to be a well-rounded person. I am active in my church, I have earned the Eagle Scout award, I perform regular community service and I am a straight A student. My ultimate goal is to become a really good and successful person and have a blast playing basketball in the process.
