Personal Statement
Ultimately, I am interested in going beyond a basketball career in high school, and I aspire to reach the collegiate level, regardless of division. Within this interest, I am specifically interested in earning a scholarship for basketball to reduce financial strains on my family. In other words, I would prefer a free education through athletic ability. I am a highly confident shooter, capable of handling the ball under pressure and making high IQ decisions. I work with a purpose, and encourage and challenge teammates in a competitive way to do the same. I am a quick, tough, and sneaky defender. I bring a unique kind of energy to both practice and game contests and I believe this energy fuels my fellow teammates in a positive way. Academically, I have achieved a weighted cumulative GPA of 4.32 and an unweighted 3.93 GPA over the course of my high school career at Saint Joe's. In terms of character, some words I feel describe me best are diligent, strategic, and genuine. Diligence and being strategic connect the competitive side of my self with how I form relationships with people. Being genuine is very important to me because it allows me to establish real connections to people I meet as well as those I already know. An added bonus to being genuine is networking, and this can open many opportunities financially and athletically for me in the future. Overall, I aspire for a free education through my passion and excitement for basketball.
