Hi, my name is Kevin Tyler Puckett. I have been playing basketball since i could walk and basketball has really been my outlet throughout my life. I have been faced with many family and life problems since I was young and basketball has been my outlet to escape all of the negativity in my life. I have strived to be the best I can be in basketball and life as well. But, I know it will be a hard process and I'm willing to do anything that have to do to make it to the next level.
Throughout high school i started on the varsity team as a freshman, and i haven't missed a game since. I used to struggle with not wanting to shoot because i was scared. But, I got over it and it was the best thing that has happened for me in basketball. Since then, I have won all league honors as a junior and i'm the captain of the team. Being the captain of the team really puts a lot on my shoulders, but it doesn't bother me at all. I'm a very vocal player to my teammates, but i would never say anything bad to them.
Since I started playing organized basketball, I've always put defense before offense. I feel that if you want to get points and win a game, you have to play defense first. On my team, when we play I am the go-to guy when the other team has a good shooter plain and simply because, I can handle the pressure of not letting him score, and I'm good at it!
Once I got into high school, my coach told me I had one of the best shooting forms he's ever seen in high school. This meant a lot to me, and it gave me more confidence in my shot. So, in my junior year, i averaged near 25 points per game. In my senior year I'm averaging 20 points per game. I don't really like 3 point shots, but I take them when I'm open. I'm also a very good passer. I can get it to the open guy, and if they have an easier shot than me, I'll give up the shot in a heart beat. I want to win. I don't need good stats for me, a long as i see we have more points at the end of the game, I'm happy.
Basketball is my life, I hope this helps any college coach out there to recognize me, because I know and I believe in myself, that if i get that shot at the next level, YOU, as the coach. Will be suprised.
