Personal Statement
Thanks for stopping by my profile! It already means so much to me that you noticed me and hopefully are interested in me to be part of your team. I love basketball and I've been playing the sport ever since I was a little kid. Being one of the shortest players on the court actually makes me think more about what I should do in that split second. I watch a lot of film on players who are short and play like me like Steph Curry & Isaiah Thomas to model my game around their playstyle. I even got interested in watching college guys like Chris Lykes. Not only I look into the skills side of basketball, but I look into the physiological and mental side of basketball as well. Recently, I started researching and watching videos on how the body works and ways I can improve physically as a player my size as well as learn small mind tricks to keep me focused in the midst of a game.
Leadership has always been a big area I'm always trying to work on. Even if I'm not the designated team captain, I always look for opportunities to serve others and lead where my coach needs me. I recognize that I'm not the perfect leader but I do realize that I'm a leader who learns from their mistakes and takes criticism even if it hurts.
Just like on the court, I'm very competitive in the classroom. Doing better than I did yesterday's class breeds natural competition within myself and it resulted in good grades. I even run a small thrifting business by myself where I resell clothes online via Instagram.
