Matthew Torres '27 Recruiting Profile

I love the game of basketball. I love this game because it has taught me to be a leader, a better friend and a better person off the court. I have met so many great coaches, mentors and people that have helped me believe that with hard work anything is possible.  My current school does not offer high school sports so I play for my assigned public high school.  I currently attend a high achieving STEM charter school, Western Center Academy (WCA) ranked #18 in California High Schools and although it is a challenging school, I know that this school will get me ready to excel in College to eventually become a Mechanical Engineer.  I am a disciplined player that has gained my teammates and my coaches trust. I've received praise for my great shooting, and playmaking abilities, and high IQ. I was selected to play Varsity basketball my freshman year as the 6th man, and now as a sophomore, I am in the starting line up. I know that whichever college or university I attend, I will excel because I will be skilled at balancing my education and basketball. I look forward to attending a college that can help me with my career goals and that has a supportive and engaging student athlete community. 

P.S. I am a PGC Grad and have learned and still learning.... how to think the game!
