Ryan Halvorson '16 Recruiting Profile

From the time I can remember, I've always loved being on a sports court or field!   Being part of a team is more to me than playing the game...it's about working together toward a common goal, learning your teammates strengths and weaknesses, and being able to promote a positive attitude so all the members of my team do their best!   I'm lucky to be growing up in a town where you start school together in kindergarten and graduate from high school together. My teammates are my best friends and we know how to encourage each other to do our best!  From the time that I could play sports I have been a 3 sport athlete, a starter on basketball, football and baseball teams from the time I was in Junior High.   I can't imagine my life without being part of a team, which is why I want to play sports in college. 

I know that I need to do my best in my classes.  I am on a college prep academic track, and I have a great counselor that keeps me focused with my education.  I am a member of my school's Student Council, and have been voted as class treasurer for my Freshman and Sophomore years.  Athletics is really important at Argonaut High School, so our Student Council is very active in promoting school spirit for all the sports at our school.  I am also a member of FFA and have raised hogs for our County Fair.

I have not decided on my major for college yet.  I love being outdoors, working with my hands, figuring out how things work and building things.  Engineering may be a good fit for me, but I'm not sure yet.

I am the youngest of 4 children in my family.  I have 3 older sisters who are my biggest fans!  My family and our traditions are very important to me.
