Personal Statement

Being the youngest in my family, my parents and my older brother have always been role models to me throughout my life.  They have all gone to college and have been successful, and I feel that it is my legacy to go to college and have a career in the future. My parents have always supported me in both academics and sports and encouraged me to be the best of my abilities. My family values have influenced me to be passionate about what I love to do, care for others, and be motivated to achieve my goals.

Ever since I can remember, I’ve always been taught to be passionate about school and basketball. I have always wanted to succeed in reaching my highest potential as a student-athlete. Basketball is just as important to me as school. I’ve always had a passion for basketball since I could first walk until now. It has been a huge part of my life and has really impacted me. It is also one of the main factors that influences me to be successful and go to college.  I’ve learned to be mature and work hard to manage school and basketball. Playing basketball has also helped me know the true meaning of team work and the importance of sportsmanship as well. School and basketball have really just helped me grow as a person and become a better human being overall.

As I grew older and matured, I felt that I wanted to help other people in some way possible. I tried to help my parents when they were sick and wanted to figure out what was wrong with them.  I feel joy when helping people. Seeing a smile on their face will make me happy. I’ve also took an interest in helping children and young adults too. I want to help people who suffer from sickness, injuries etc. I want to learn more about the human anatomy and I am interested in pursuing a career in physical therapy.

When I think about my future, it motivates me to be successful. I picture all the great things I can do with my life if I work hard enough. One of the main things that motivate me to go to college is to make money in the future because I want to live a happy life where I don’t have worry about money problems and be able to afford certain things in my life. I want to be able to live comfortably and have enough money to support a family of my own one day. Watching NCAA games and players with great skills really motivates me to play basketball. It makes me want to work harder than the next player, so maybe one day I can make it and somebody will see me playing on their TV.

I believe my passion for school and basketball, my calling to help the sick, and my motivation to set and achieve my goals are qualities that will help me succeed in college.   I will utilize these qualities as a student athlete and also in my future career as a physical therapist. Or in my potential career in becoming a professional basketball player in America or overseas. I believe I am truly capable going to college to reach my goals of success and pursue my life long dreams.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
