Just a few of my many collegiate goals would be to win a League Championship, get an All-League selection, and grow myself as a player, not only on the court, but also off of it.
I believe I will make a great contribution to a college program due to my exceptional court vision, ability to lead my team on and off the court, and for my worth ethic. I am always the hardest working guy in the gym and I enjoy putting in the work. I'm a gym rat. I love being in the gym wether its working on a new finish at the rim, working on my shot or playing in pick up games. I can't get enough.
Another reason I believe I will excel at the next level is my will to win. I am always willing to sacrifice my personal stats for my team to win. Sometimes that means making the extra pass, making that extra rotation on defense, or making sure there are no fast break opportunities. Winning is the only stat that really matters to me and I've been fortunate to lose only 14 games total, in my 3 year high school career.
My leadership and commitment to the winning really showed last season as our team went 29-4 and undefeated in league for the 1st time in 50 years. I set a school record for assists in a season, and had the 5th best assist to turnover ratio in the school's 75 year history. The team had 3 seniors who were all capable scorers, and the coach depended on me to run the offense and and exploit what the other team was giving us.
I also take an active leadership role off the court by keeping the team in check and setting a positive example in my personal behavior. I make sure that I keep my grades in check so that my coach never has to worry about eligibility issues. Lastly, I understand my role in helping the coach to now develop the younger players in our program, both in my words and my actions, to ensure that I leave the program in better position than it was when I first arrived.
