Personal Statement
I fell in love with basketball when I was in the 4th grade. This was a combination of my excitement about the rookie year of my heros, Blake Griffin, and my own NJB team winning our division championship. I was hooked!
Sport has been a key part of my personal development. In my life, some things come easily, some are profound challenges. Playing basketball has helped me understand the need to be a complete person, and taught me the discipline to face my weaknesses and improve them.
I have worked to improve my game. As a freshman, I was 7th man. As a junior, I was a varsity starter and relied upon on in clutch situations. Through this evolution, I’ve learned the importance of the entire team and that one of my greatest strengths is bring out the best in my teammates. I’m really proud of my basketball IQ, and the number of assists I deliver.
I hope to attend an elite academic institute, and to play basketball in college. Academically, I’m most interested in economics and business.
