Personal Statement
I grew up overseas and played basketball in Taiwan from elementary to my sophomore year of high school. Living overseas allowed me to play basketball in other countries, such as Hong Kong and Malaysia. Living overseas also has helped me grow as a person. I lived in an international school so I was able to experience different cultures. In 2017, my junior year, I was able to attend high school in America. Playing on the varsity team I helped my team win into the Central Coast Section championship in Northern California. Even though we lost, I learned a lot from it. I learned to become a much better student athlete here in my first year in the States. I learned to be a team player, to sacrifice, and work hard on my game. With my experiences overseas, the work ethic I’ve been taught, and the competition I have played against, will all help me play at the next level.
