I love to play basketball, and I love to study the game and find ways to constantly improve by dissecting in-game film and applying the knowledge to my workouts. Basketball gifts the player to be a great team contributor while still working his/her individual game. It affords the opportunity to learn so many life lessons/skills on the court and to grow into a competent, reliable and contributing young adult.
My parents taught me to work hard, stay focused, and be dependable. On the court I am a competitor. I naturally guard the paint and play help defense. There is usually a sizable point differential when I am on the court. I am great at being in position to get a contest, steal, block, or take a charge. I protect the paint and hold the player I am guarding to as few points as possible. I learned to view guarding someone as a personal exchange, which has proved a great advantage defensively. With my height and long reach, I'm also very effective on a full court press. Offensively, I can play any position and I can see over the defense for smart passes. I set effective screens and roll to the basket. I can shoot from anywhere on the court. I feel I've developed a high basketball IQ.
I am looking for a college program where I can continue to develop as a player, help my team win games and championships, and obtain the skills and experience needed to become a successful business entrepreneur some day.
