Personal Statement
Ever since starting in the local CYO (Catholic Youth Organization) league in the 3rd grade, I have been hooked on playing basketball. At my elementary school, the team had always been restricted to 6th graders, but I was determined to play and showed up at every tryout and was the first to ever make the team as a 5th grader. This determination to play is what sets me apart from my teammates and is what coaches notice. In our final year of CYO, we won the 8th grade championship. The core group of players from that CYO team have gone on to field a very competitive AAU team. We always play up from our division, making us the smaller team in most cases, but it makes us work harder and smarter to win.
Outside of basketball, I play tennis for my high school team and played wide receiver for my high school football team. I am also a proficient bowler, although my school does not have a team for bowling.
Academically, I have maintained a high GPA throughout all of my school years and my pACT and pSAT scores have both been in the top 95th percentile. School and testing come natural.
