I am a 6’ 4.5” combo guard that hustles on both ends of the court. I have a strong work ethic, high basketball IQ, focused on basketball fundamentals, and I recognize game-day results are earned in practice.
I am a senior at Kent Denver, class of 2021, with an accumulative GPA of 3.95 on a 4.0 scale. My coursework includes honors and AP classes. I was recently selected to attend the National Advanced STEM Academy, a member of the National Society of High School Scholars, and was recognized by Kent Denver “Head of School List”.
I want to take the opportunity to share who I am in addition to a basketball player. I have a unique perspective that pushes me to expand my boundaries both on and off the court. I am grounded with the humility of knowing once I commit to a set of goals, I am accountable. It is my goal to play basketball at the next level. I am committed to both academic excellence and championship performance.
I am a volunteer:
Volunteering is the best way to make the world a better place. I am an active volunteer at Parker Task Force, I am an assistant coach at NBN basketball camps for kids, I volunteer at the Ronald MacDonald House, and I deliver meals-on-wheels (Saturday mornings). I believe in helping people. Ultimately, I want to be part of the solution to Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).
I am a leader:
I believe success requires a commitment to learn and to help others achieve their goals. I believe being a part of a team provides me an opportunity to learn from teammates strengthen our skill set together.
I am motivated:
I am goal orientated in the classroom, on the basketball court, and on the baseball field. I am a two-sport athlete (basketball and baseball). I play baseball because I can shut down the middle infield. I play basketball because it is my passion. I have been told that I was too short for basketball. This drove me to work hard on my skill development. Now I am a 6’ 4.5” triple threat.
I am an athlete:
Developing my baseball skills helped the development of my basketball skills. Just like understanding calculus helps me understand physics. Being a student-athlete combines all my skill sets together. I am looking for an opportunity that affords me academic excellence and being a part of a championship-caliber basketball program. I believe it all goes together.
I am ready for the rigorous requirements to be a student-athlete.
