Hello my name is Dennis Clifford Starks Jr and I will be giving you a considerable outline of not only how my life has been going but also how my life changed me for the greater good. Growing up I was an only child for 6 years and my father was in and out my life but god rest his soul. The only true and closest relationship I had at the time was my mother Contessa Allen-Starks. She is the most magnificent, marvelous and understanding person you would ever meet. She put everything on the line for me and made sure that my life wouldn’t be difficult or have to struggle with anything about time I got to this age. Before any of my siblings were born me and my mother stayed with my grandmother for the time being due to the fact that she was a single parent and was trying her best to make me the happiest child in the world. Looking back when me and my mom didn’t have a place basically homeless, the only support I really had was my mother. She was working two jobs and still going to school while I went to school. Just imagine yourself in my position, in elementary school covering the sadness and pain with a bright smile just to come live under the government wondering if your dad is coming home or when you can see him while your mom is bussing her butt off to make sure her child doesn't feel alone or feel down about living. When I say the government I mean dc general. It’s a place you go when you don’t have anywhere else to go and I highly recommend you don’t attend the place. But my mother is the real soldier and the real MVP of my life. She’s like a best friend to me and will really give it all for her to understand how proud of a son I am to be hers. The connection we have is a type of bond you would’ve never expected. We talk about almost literally everything when it comes to food, basketball, make up whatever the case is we have each other and we all we got. Most people would think that everyone needs both parents in life to be mental and physically happy but the truth is all it takes a big heart and loving personality from one and you’ll understand that not everything is right and wrong with a dad with no mom or with a mom with no dad, they would both love you the same and equally. Knowing my father is looking over me, seeing the process, seeing the grind and seeing how for the past year without him my mom hurts but still strives for the best and makes sure all her kids are okay by the end of the day which is why I will always and forever love my mom. Without my mom I really don’t know where I would be right now. She really made me into the young man I’m becoming and hopefully she’s with me every step of the way to greatness.
