Personal Statement
My goal is to play collegiate basketball with the hope of playing in the NBA one day. I am very mannerable , coachable, and have been committed to the game of basketball since I was three. Although my father was away due to military, my mother put me in every basketball program she could to help develop my skills. What makes me different from any other recruit is that I am willing to work unlimited hours on my craft of the game of basketball and continue to be a life-long learner devoted to getting better. Another factor that makes me unique is that I was a 2 pound 14.7 ounce premature baby that I have overcome the diagnosis of being deaf, blind, and would never walk. School has always been my priority so academic eligibility will not be an issue; however, standardized test has created an obstacle in my path because many colleges based your potential and worth on a standardized score. My academics, coupled with my, abilities are unmatched in relation to standardized test score norms. I pray to be a testimony to others that are/were premature and forever small but told they will never be whatever they desire to be. I have set goals, nurtured them, and now I am ready to broaden my horizon. I believe strongly that no educational institution would be disappointed if they provided me an opportunity to fulfill a dream and play college basketball. While I may not be one's first round pick, my academics definitely could yield an academic scholarship and athletics provide scholarship to cover room and board. Please consider me for your college program and scholarship opportunities.
