Jayden Martin '19 Recruiting Profile

In the most recent year, transferring to a school across the globe was the most exciting yet nerve racking experience of my life. However, I feel that I developed the most as a student athlete as well as a person when I had taken the opportunity to move to a new school in a completely different city that pushed me to my limits. That experience helped me fight through adversity on and off the court essentially making me the person that I am today. My most recent accomplishment was over the 2018 Christmas break where I was selected as part of the all tournament team for the Suncoast classic tournament. I now know what it takes to be a true student athlete and has made me very determined and focussed on becoming a reliable and solid point guard capable of playing at the collegiate level.

Throughout the last few years of my development I have learnt many different things about myself such as defining characteristics that make me who I am; these characteristics include confidence, discipline and the ability to be a leader as well as knowing the value of sacrifice and teamwork. I am looking for a program that will challenge me athletically and academically. I believe that I have the talent to compete at the college level but what sets me apart from the others is my character, work ethic, passion and leadership skills as this is what will allow me to make an immediate impact on your program. As a point guard that has been playing the game of basketball for six years I know what it takes to be leader on your team.
