Juan Soto '20 Recruiting Profile

Playing basketball at the college level in the US has been a lifelong dream of mine since I started playing the sport in Bogota, Colombia. I am willing to play anywhere within the country and at any division (NCAA I, II or III, NAIA, JC, etc.). I consider myself a highly disciplined and dedicated athlete that never misses practices and take great pride in putting forth my best effort in all the drills and scrimmages. My normal position is Shooting Guard although I sometimes fill in as a Point Guard. My best offensive weapon is the three point shot. I am also an above average free-throw shooter and passer with a knack for finding the open man. I consider myself to be a great defender with above average defensive skills. My coaches normally task me to guard the best scorer in the opposing team due to my aggressiveness and hustle on the court. Through my quick defensive skills I am able to force turnovers while limiting the effectiveness of the player who I am assigned to guard. I want to continue to develop my skills so that I may represent Colombia at the International Level (e.g. Panamerican Games, World Cup, etc.) in the not so distant future.
