Personal Statement
I am a class of 2019 6’4 1/2” Combo Guard with a 6'10 wingspan. I am proud to say that I have embraced the notion of being a student-athlete by carrying in excess of a 4.0GPA through 6 semesters and being a Member of The National Honor Society while playing varsity basketball since Freshman Year. I am also Captain of Game Elite's Adidas Gauntlet Silver Team
What I believe makes me a great candidate for a college team is that my game expands substially every year. I am not even close to realizing my potential as a basketball player. I also understand that balancing academic rigor and basketball is about dedication and time management. I have to do the work that's necessary for academic excellence and at the same time balance my team practice and individual training schedule. I've done this very effectively since I was age 9, often starting my days at 6:30am when I awaken for school and ending them at 10pm when I arrive home from training. Therefore I have been groomed for the academic and athletic rigor of being a collegiate athlete.
I also believe thay my work ethic makes me an ideal college athlete. Known as a shooter, I have worked really hard developing the range and accuracy on my outside shot. Now, for example, I'm consistently able to make NBA Range threes. This is something I'm really proud of because it makes it very hard for a team to play zone without leaving gaps and driving lanes for my teammates and I. I am also proud that my varsity coach has me guard the opposing team's best offensive player every game. So I've had to invest heavily in becoming a very good defender. I’ve also worked overtime on my ball handling, which makes it really hard on defenders who are worried about my outside shooting.
My coaches now view me as a complete player and consummate student- athlete. I think that has me very well prepared for college athletics.
