Ethan Duckworth '19 Recruiting Profile

My dream is to play at the next level.  I have been working towards that goal since I began playing recreation basketball at the age of 5.  I give 110% on the court every time.  I am easily coached and take criticism well.  My strengths are being a leader on and off the court, a high basketball IQ, encouraging my teammates, having good court vision for passing, being a tough rebounder and being able to shoot with confidence from anywhere on the court.  I work just as hard in the classroom as I do on the court and I feel my grades reflect my determination.  I strive to be the best at what I do, but not in a way that is not respectful to the game or my teammates.  The traits that I take most pride in are living for Christ, working hard and staying focused on my grades.  I hope to be able to play at a University that allows me to balance my academic life with basketball but also be able to contribute to the success of my team.  I am truly focused on both aspects of my goal and will do whatever it takes to be successful at both.

I started for my varsity team as a freshman and led the team in scoring and was selected by my coaches as the most valuable offensive player.  I was selected that year to the All Region First Team.  I started on the varsity team my sophomore year and again led the team in scoring.  I was selected as the most valuable offensive player again that year.  I was very blessed that year to be selected to the All Region First Team and the All State First Team.  I was the only sophomore to be selected to that team.  As I play through my junior year, I am excited about what I will accomplish this season.  I believe that my skills and my attitude would make any coach proud to have me be a part of their team.
