My main goals as an upcoming junior is to keep God and family first, to make good grades, and play basketball. I have a strong set of values I live by, and everything I do it is to honor God and my family. I am very passionate about basketball, and I place winning, team success, and my teammates above all else. What sets me apart from other basketball players is my work ethic, leadership skills, character, and determination. I do strength training at least five times a week in the weight room or working at home doing body weight workouts. I have always lifted with the upperclassmen when in the weight room. When I am not weight lifting, I am studying or skill training either with a trainer or without a trainer. If I had to describe my playing style, it would be efficient, fundamental basketball with few mistakes with an emphasis on defense. As a student-athlete, I understand that school comes first then basketball. Outside of academic classes, I take advantage of my free time (study hall), and I improve upon my mistakes and study. I am a determined person who values hard work and dedication above all else.
Sincerely,
James Darden
