Personal Statement
My name is Justin Garner, I am a sophomore currently attending Cleveland State Community College. In May of 2008, I signed a Basketball Scholarship to play for Faulkner University. I chose this school because of the opportunity to play early and because the school had a great basketball program. Even though the school did not have my major, I chose an alternative degree to pursue which was Business Administration. Unfortunately, I decided to transfer because I really wanted to go to a school that offers some form of Music (Audio Production or technology). I also wanted to attend a school that would give me the true college experience that I was seeking. I then signed with Cleveland State Community College and had a solid year, but have to transfer to a 4-year school now.
At Faulkner I was initially redshirted, but after a few weeks of practice I was taken off redshirt and completed the season playing in all but one game and played as the second string shooting guard behind a senior who was the best scorer on the team. This year at Cleveland State Community College I came in as a shooting guard, but due to our lack in size I was put at the power forward/small forward position. I had a solid year, but was forced to play out of position all year. However, I started and we defeated some of the top teams in our conference and had a strong ending to our season.
Now I am seeking a college that offers my major which is any form of music industry or radio technology. I am looking to go into music production after college. I am a very good student, I stay out of trouble, and I will play my hardest everyday.
Sincerely,
Justin D. Garner
