Thinking back to the date of October 22, 2021. This was the second day of my sophmore season's basketball tryouts. I was injured with a suspected sprained ankle. After visiting the doctor, I wasn't prepared to find out that I actually broke my ankle. I was devastated with the news that I would be out for 5 months. It was a long journey for me and I had to miss out on my entire basketball season because of my injury. I have dreamed of playing basketball since i was five years old. Despite my disppointment, I loved myself enough to continue to not give up on my dream of playing basketball.
Now, I am an upcoming 2024 Senior. I am a very hard working individual and my goal this year is to be a champion at heart on the court. I have a true desire to play at the collegiate level. I am a team leader and I try to lead by example while also encouraging my teammates. I am very coachable and desire to learn and push myself to be better. I also strive to be one of the hardest working players for any team that I play with by being a great defensive and offensive player.
Off the court, I study hard and maintain a high GPA. I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and on the basketball court. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. I hope to become a great role model to others, but I also want to make my family proud.
