Jessie Baker '23 Recruiting Profile

I am a hard-working half American/ half Thai that grew up in Bangkok, Thailand through my Sophomore year. I first started to play basketball during that Sophomore year. I didn't discover basketball as a young child like most American kids. Despite the late start, I quickly became starting center on my Thai high school team. My Dad saw my passion and quick progress and agreed to send me back to USA, where I was born. I moved to Pope Highschool in Marietta my Junior year and was able to improve from a bench player to starting 5. I also play on Upward Stars AAU team and have also worked my way to starter. I have been taking 1:1 private lessons with Coach Gregory Williams since moving to Marietta in 2021. 

I am a B student and plan to study Business Administration.  I train hard daily including with weights. I bench 225lbs, squat 315lbs, and have a 27” vertical. I am complimented often for my big smile.
