Personal Statement
My Name is Khari Morgan and I play Varsity basketball at Morrow High School. I am a kid from a low income and worst neighborhoods in Atlanta. My mom kept me in sports like soccer and football. Which I won MVP almost every year. As I got older and thought football was going to be my sport of choice. Then when I turnt 11 I played for the Boys and Girls Club basketball team. I was 10 years old playing with 16 and under boys team. Which I hit multiple game winners. Then my mom moved me to Clayton County where I mainly just played football. When I played for Morrow Middle School in 8th grade I lead the county in Touchdowns and went to the championship and lost. I played in the Clayton County All Star game for football. After the game coaches at Morrow Middle said I couldn’t play basketball because I was only a football star. That made me feel like it was a challenge so I stop playing football and picked up a basketball. I then attended Morrow High School where I made the freshman basketball team and played a little JV. Which we made the playoffs as the 3rd seed and me the leading scorer. Then the next season I played JV which we went undefeated with me being the leading scorer and I also won my first championship. After that I played Varsity and went to state. I also was the leading scorer as a junior , made First Team All Region, and also Clayton County Juniors All Star game. Now I’m trying to take basketball to the next level and prove even more people wrong with my talent. I want to show people that it could also be hope when you come from nothing to if you do what’s right.
I am beginning to explore my college options and am very interested attending and playing Basketball at the college level. I am looking for in college experience i.e. a university that has a major in Biology, and a competitive Basketball program with a winning tradition. Therefore, I want to introduce myself and give you some information about myself.
