My basketball career has had many ups and downs. I played recreational basketball for most of my youth career starting when I was about four and I seemed to get so much more better from year to year. It was in eighth grade that I realized I needed to take a step up. I tried out for the eighth grade metro basketball team and I did not make the team. This is when I knew I needed to work harder if I were to get anywhere with basketball. I spent that whole season working on my game and when ninth grade came around I managed to make the team. I knew I had to work hard considering I couldn't even be called a "decent" player until late sixth grade. My ninth grade year was mediocre, but there was plenty to learn from that. It was in my sophomore year I finally had the great year I was looking for. I led the team in scoring and we were first in our region.
To me, each year is filled with lessons that I can learn from and this is one of the main reasons, along with my work ethic, that I continue to improve each year. I am looking for a good program that is a great fit for me academically and athletically. Not only do I believe I have the talent to make an impact on a college team, I also have a great personality and I can get along with all of the players and coaches at the program fairly well.
