Personal Statement
When I first dribbled a basketball in the 5th grade, I never imagined that basketball would become my passion. When asked if I wanted to play I was reluctant because I had never played and didn't understand the rules. Something in me transpired the moment I made my very first shot and ever since I never leave home without a basketball. I love to play but most of all I enjoy learning new fundamental/skills and I embrace the hard work that comes with learning. From a very young age I was taught that nothing comes for free but that if I work hard for it I can accomplish anything I desire. I spend my summers attending skill camps because I feel that that's were I will learn new skills to become more of a threat to my opponents. I also spend my summers playing in Men Summer Leagues, training two or more hours extra in the gym, and accept invitations to play with other teams in tournaments. I don't allow living in a small town discourage me. My goal is to play college ball while earning a college degree. My hope is that a college recruit will give me the opportunity to show them that a small town player can play with their team. I worked extremely hard and earned a spot on the Varsity team as a sophmore. In my junior year as the point guard I helped lead my team to state, something that had not been done for the last five years in my school. I was one of the teams top offensive and defensive player. I also earned first team all conference and was noted as one of the top point guards in the state.
