Hello, my name is Evan Flynn. I am 17 and getting ready to start my senior year of high school. My passion for basketball started at age 5 when I began playing at the YMCA. Since then, I've played on four AAU teams, played varsity as a sophomore, and started varsity my junior year of high school. Upon finishing my last season of AAU basketball earlier this month, guided by my mentor and coach, I firmly believe that I am a worthy candidate for collegiate basketball. I am more confident, experienced, and committed to my goal.
For years I played point guard, and honed my leadership skills. I anticipate plays, help direct players on the court, and listen well to my coach's instruction. I believe these leadership qualities are my strength, along with my free throw accuracy, three point shooting in crunch time, and aggressive rebounding skills.
I'll be dual enrolled at Dakota High School and Highland Community College this year. I have already earned 16 college credits my junior year of high school through dual enrollment, so I will have 1.5 years of college completed by the end of my high school senior year. I am planning to major in secondary education, and would like to pursue my master's degree immediately, thus allowing me four years of college basketball eligibility.
