Personal Statement
Ever since I was a little kid I've played sports, but basketball was different. I felt like I belonged on the court and fell in love with the game. I became determined to push myself to become the best player I could be. I first started playing in kindergarten, and by the time I hit third grade I started competitive travel basketball. I have played for the Dwight Jr Trojans - Dwight Illinois, Illinois Ambush AAU - Seneca, Illinois, and Mercury Elite AAU - Wheaton, Illinois where I was asked to play up an age group. As a Freshman I was a starter on the JV team, as a Sophomore I play both on JV and Varsity. Now as a Junior playing varsity level I will continue to push my abilities. I've gone to many camps that have been instructed by college coaches or NBA players. I am teachable, driven, hardworking, team orientated and dedicated to the game of basketball. I look forward to receiving a college education to better my future and want nothing more than an opportunity to continue to play. I feel that all the years playing my sport has not only helped me in bettering my game, but being an athlete has also taught me how to balance practices, games and school work. I am dedicated to my education along with game of basketball . I feel that playing a sport while furthering your education keeps a student/athlete motivated and driven. Being a part of a team has always been a part of who I am and I would like nothing more than to be given the opportunity to continue playing the game after High School.
