I have had a strong passion since I was 2 years old. It has grown on me for 15 years now. I am very determined to make the most out of any situation that I am presented with. I have put in a lot of work allowing me to receive these opportunities. I feel that I have come a long way, but at the same time, have much more to learn, develop, and achieve.
Great characteristics I show on a daily basis are leadership, attitude, and work ethic. I was put in charge of my varsity team when I was 14 years old, going to be a sophomore. I learned all the qualities stated from that time to now. I have had the great privilege of being able to develop and improve those skills in that period of time.
For my size, I feel I have very good ball control. Valuing the ball is very important to me. I realized at a young age that the best way to score was to have as good of an all around game as you possibly could. Offensively, driving to the hoop and working on my outside shot was the most effective. Whether it was zone or man, one of these would work. I love using the fundamentals. I will usually not be the most athletic person on the floor, so I do my best to be smarter than the other team. Back cuts, curls, flares, setting/using screens, and all of the essentials of the game.
Outside of basketball, I am very blessed. I have a strongly bonded family that is always there for me. They are a huge part of me. I am most appreciative of my academics. I have been focused on them as long as I can remember. I have maintained a 4.1 GPA throughout high school. With the addition of a 28 ACT score, I could go to just about any college in the U.S. Along with athletics and academics, I do my best to help the community. I come from a farm-family that looks out for their town. Whether that is shoveling driveways, taking care of fallen trees, or just doing housework that others may not be able to do. We take care of that. I have also helped with our schools' summer basketball camps for 5 straight years. I mentor the younger athletes and prepare them for high school basketball.
