My name is Cherif Cisse 6”5, small forward, class of 2021 and here’s my story.
My mom was forced to marry my dad too early. she was pregnant of me at 16 years old .After that they struggled to raise me because we were not wealthy, so at the age of 5 years old my dad sent me to a campus where I could learn (and that give them time to work ) I spent there 6 years, been through everything (they beat you if u didn’t learn a lesson or didn’t do the assignment they gave you)so I got beaten every single day during those 6 years .but my mum was always beside me.
And at the age of 11 my mom start working and that’s where everything changes. She would do everything for her children, she sent me to great schools, she works so hard that now she is one of the best Accountants in Senegal. (I won’t talk about the death of my sister). And I'm gonna give everything I got to get what I want because that’s how I’ve been raised and basketball was one of my ways outs. I started playing at 11 years old, now I’ve got a basketball scholarship from Gateway Legacy Christian Academy, I would like to pursue my dream in college and make it happen because I owe that to my mum.
I'm not sharing my story for people to got pitty for me but for you to know What makes me who am I today. ( i would never be angry whatever the situation because I’ve already been through a lot)
