Basketball has been a great impact on my life and has shaped me into the person I am today. I started playing basketball when I was in first grade, but I really became interested when I was playing in 6th and 7th grade. When I was in middle school I was the last person to be cut from the team in 7th and 8th grade which really disappointed me but it also motivated me to be a better player and lit a fire inside of me to show them that they made the wrong decision and that I was a harder worker than everyone else in the gym. I put all my time and effort into becoming the best player I could by taking countless hours a day in the summer to better myself and to prove that I should have been on the team. As I moved into my high school career, I could see a lot of growth in myself as a player as I moved onto play for my Freshman and Junior Varsity teams as my hard work and time spent working on my game finally paid off.
Throughout basketball, I learned that hard work and dedication is the key to becoming the best at anything you want to accomplish. Throughout my next two years of high school, I want to become a starter for my Varsity team and help bring them to a state championship. As I move into college, I hope to get a degree to enter the medical field. I also hope to find a team that will help me better myself and that will continue to strive me toward the best person I can become academically and athletically.
