Personal Statement
Since I have been a little kid, I've dreamed of playing collegiate basketball. I would be a good fit for any team because of my passion and love for the game, my work ethic and desire to win. I have always been taught that hard work in the classroom, weight room, and the basketball court will pay off and is the key to success. What makes me stand out is always getting to the gym either before or after school to get at least 500 shots up. Also, in the classroom, I am always more than willing to go in before school to get help if I don't understand a concept. This has helped me maintain a 4.0 GPA through 6th grade.
I have had to overcome some severe injuries like a broken wrist, dislocated knee and a torn meniscus. I have used these setbacks as motivation to get back on the court and to work even harder to reach my goals. My goal is to have four successful years on a basketball scholarship that I will keep working for. What makes me different is being humble and hungry for more. I am very versatile and bring a lot to the table which makes me unique. A great experience I had when I was younger was competing in the Elks National Hoop Shoot. I won state in 2011 and moved on to regionals where all the eyes and cameras were on me. This experience helped me by blocking everything out, getting the nerves out of the way and enjoying every moment while having a big task at hand.
