Indiana Large School All State...How did I earn the recognition? Honesty, Respect, Gratitude, Work Ethic. These 4 words are core values that guide my conduct at home, at school, and on the court.
A strong work ethic was instilled in me from a young age so now it gives me the drive from within. This drive would wake me at 4:15 everyday before school for 2 hour individual basketball workouts. After school either consisted of organized practice or 1-2 hours of additional conditioning and weights. The pandemic has only fueled my desire to put in more work so I have been incorporating a new jumping program, doing parachute sprint drills, hitting the weights, doing creative ball handling drills, and driving 45 minutes to use a shooting gun in a barn to get up hundreds of shots.
Honesty in my words and actions has helped build trust amongst coaches and teammates.
Demonstrating respect to my parents, teachers and coaches has built deep relationships and mutual respect.
Verbalizing gratitude for the things that I have, the opportunities that I have been given, and the support shared by others has been important in both the big and small moments in life.
So...when the opportunity comes...I'll be ready.
