Personal Statement
I want to make a difference. I want to make an impact. I want to take my talents, hard work, and dedication beyond high school. My involvement in high school sports has made a significant impact on my life, but I know there is more I can achieve.
I want to pursue a business degree and look forward to learning more about the different specialities there are to offer. While I am open to where my career path may take me, I’ve learned a great deal from starting my own business. I buy and sell shoes, which allows me a flexible schedule to work around my practice schedule and also provides me with financial independence.
My mom once asked the question, “What would I do if I didn’t play sports?” To be honest, it was depressing to think of this scenario. Sports have been an important staple in my life for as long as I can remember, from pre-school t-ball and soccer, to elementary and middle school basketball and volleyball, and now, high school basketball and volleyball. My involvement at a small school has given me the opportunity to play multiple sports.
Although most of my life has revolved around “When’s the next game?” or “What gym is practice in tonight?” I do not regret my dedication to athletics. Being active and involved in basketball and volleyball gets me through the day. The court is the one place I feel my best. I feel confident. I can be described as an easy-going guy, but once I hit the court…”Boom!” I come alive!
I’m 6’4” but I’ve been dunking since 8th grade. I have a 30” vertical and am working on getting it even higher. I thrive on hard work and want to grow both physically and mentally in my sport. I look forward to pushing harder and being an asset to your team!
