Hi, I'm Maxwell Newman from Monrovia High School in Indiana. I am 6’8”, 230 lbs., and 17 (D.O.B. 5/18/001) and still growing. I played on the adidas gold circuit with EG10 Gold team for AAU last year. I was all conference and honorable mention all-state last 3 years. I received the legacy award at my high school for breaking records at my high school.

Played in North/South Indiana All-Star Classic
I averaged a double/double this season. I averaged 20 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks per game. I am a top rebounder in the state. I was instrumental in getting us our first sectional win in 19 years.
I can make plays off the dribble, shoot from the offense, sprint the floor, strong ball handling skills, offensive rebounds to put back, can be in the paint for easy layup, dunk or rotate out for a 3, and know when to pass for assist. I can block, deflect, and steal. I am a top rebounder. I beat all career rebound records my 10th grade year at my high school. I have strong character, high basketball IQ, and am a very coachable.
I am also a true student athlete with a 3.2 GPA with honors and AP courses. I work equally hard in the classroom and on the court.

- Max is a thick forward with good size and the ability to shoot from three. Has a bunch of skill and can play all around the court. Made to play in the post but he's still learning in that area. Sees the floor really well and can pass the ball out of the high post to set up shots.

College coaches on camp staff identified Maxwell as having division 1 potential. Maxwell has a disruptive wingspan that gives the player the potential to be a lock down defender and can be even more effective with active hands/feet. Additionally, the prospect appears to have great positional size when used properly remains very advantageous on both sides of the ball. The talented passer, distributes the ball well always seeing the floor and anticipating where and when teammates will be open creating easy buckets. In terms of ball handling, the prospect showed a great handle and is on the way to being a primary ball handler. The prospect displayed a good basketball IQ during camp that should continue to improve. Through continued emphasis on making the right play through watching/learning the game, it can be a big advantage in recruiting and separating from others. A big part of IQ is shot selection. Maxwell does a great job of understanding when there is enough time and space to shoot the ball and will continue to develop this knowledge by watching how this is done at various college levels. Making the extra pass and taking only open in-rhythm shots proved to be a reliable asset for the prospect. The prospect was able to consistently knock down shots during camp showing to be a reliable asset. The talent impressed finishing around the rim through contact and in traffic. With continued work finishing through traffic with either hand, adding even more finishing moves, the player will continue to be a grave threat around the basket. The talented player has very good athletic ability for size and age. The prospect is very strong for their age. The college game is an entirely different beast so continued strength development is crucial to prepare going against 23-24 year-olds. Combined with the player's solid frame that should to continue to build year around, the player will be physically ready to play at the next level. The talent showed a very good motor (highly coveted skill by college coaches) that remained mostly active on possessions and from what we saw, the player showed physical and mental toughness throughout camp. The player showed a great understanding and effort on the defensive side of the ball and should continue to focus on individual and team defensive concepts emphasized at camp. Maxwell has division 1 potential with continued hard work and development both in the classroom and on the hardwood.”
