As I take the court each night and see the opposing team at the other end, my mind instantly goes to “they are not going to stop me from reaching my goal or our team’s goal”. Whether it is in soccer or basketball, I have always had that determination to succeed and win once I crossed the line. However, that determination is bigger than just winning for me. Although I may never reach the NBA, I am determined to play at the collegiate level so that I can grow as a person, teammate, and student. Although basketball is my passion, I am determined to play college basketball, get my college degree, and positively impact others along the way.
I feel I grew the most as a student-athlete my sophomore year when we lost in the Indiana State Soccer Semi-Finals. That experience helped me grow as a person and lead me to work harder as I do not want to get that close again and be on the losing end. However, that season taught me the value of teamwork, commitment, sacrifice, and leadership despite not winning it all. I'm looking for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. I believe I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but the character, work-ethic, and leadership skills to make a positive impact on any program. As a two-sport athlete and Leaders of Character attendee, I know that I have what it takes to be a leader on and off the court.
