Personal Statement
My name is Caleb Cronn, and I am an American citizen currently living in Australia as a permanent resident. I moved to Australia my Freshman year of high school after my mom accepted a new job there. I was immediately recruited and received a scholarship to play basketball by the current head-coach of the Adelaide 36rs NBL team and Australian men’s basketball Olympic team coach, CJ Bruton, to a sports focused boarding school in Brisbane, Australia, the Anglican Church Grammar School or Churchie, where he used to coach. I am the starting point guard for the First V (Varsity) GPS (Div 1) team. I am the leading scorer on the team and the second leading scorer in the GPS League, averaging 24 points a game. After the school basketball season, I made the Division 1 men's team for under 21 and I am the youngest person on the team by 3 years.
Before moving to Australia, I played AAU basketball since the age of 10 for the top teams in Oregon for my age group, including FAST (now Rose City Rebels - Nike EYBL - Payton Pritchard's club), Hoops Elite and Deny.
I am interested in returning to the United States after high-school to continue my basketball career as a 2024 recruit. While my goal is to play professional basketball after college, I also hope to one day be an Astrophysicist. I currently participate in the talented and gifted program at my school (and have participated in TAG academic programs my entire academic career), maintaining over a 4.0 GPA.
Thank you for reading through my profile. I look forward to building a relationship with you and your coaching staff over the coming years!
Kind regards,
Caleb
