I have been in the athletic atmosphere my entire life. I started playing organized sports in kindergarten and have loved sports and competition ever since. I am a four sport athlete participating in basketball, football, track, and baseball. I also play on an AAU basketball team in the spring and summer. A part from simply enjoying each sport, I have learned to love and crave competition. I see every practice, work-out session, or game as an opportunity to get better. I believe this attitude has been a large part of my success as an athlete and a leader. I have been an elected team captain for my varsity football and basketball teams since my sophomore year. Being an underclassman but still being expected to be a leader was an intimidating task but I believe it helped mold me into a better leader. This experience illustrates a saying the I learned my freshman year and follow it as much as I can. The saying is " Get comfortable being uncomfortable." This simply means to constantly push yourself out of your comfort zone. This belief has been key to my growth as an athlete.
I have a love and passion for basketball and I would love to have the opportunity to play at the college level as I pursue my next level of education. Academics is very important to me as I want to enter the medical field after college. I have and will continue to maintain a balance between my academics and athletics. I will give my max effort in anything I do, and I am willing to put in the time, focus, and energy to become successful in athletics at the college level.
