Basketball is my passion and has been a big part of my life. I grew up going to my older sister’s basketball games and tournaments and hearing stories about my dad as a high school and college basketball player. My dad has been my basketball coach since third grade and him and my mom have both challenged me to be my best and supported me through every year. Playing the sport has made me learn that I love to win, and I hate to lose. I have started Varsity since I was a freshman. I had to overcome the obstacle of playing against men that were two to three years older than me. I learned to earn their respect and to be a leader even though I may have been younger than them. Throughout my sophomore and junior season, I have been the team’s captain and led them to my school’s first district win in 25 years. Academically, I plan to study business and obtain a degree in that field. I am interested in Human Resources Management, simply because I love to lead and manage people. Basketball has given me the skills to lead and to win both on and off the court. It is something that I love to do and I hope to continue playing on the collegiate level.
