Personal Statement
I began to play basketball in first grade, playing in tournaments around my area and in summer leagues. By the time I reached sixth grade, I started taking basketball more seriously knowing that I wanted to play ball beyond high school. I am a very good shooter, with a high basketball IQ, and I am a strong ball-handler. Most importantly, I am a leader on the court, and always expect the most out of my teammates & and myself. I encourage my teammates to continue to perfect their role to the team, and to not hang their head on any game or situation. I am a very coachable player as I love being told what I did wrong and how I can fix it the next time to be the best player I can be.
Whether it is on the court or off, I try to be the best student and role model I can be. I take academics very seriously, because I would like to have the best job available to me and strive to live a very comfortable life while doing what I love.
I want to attend a college where I can succeed in my basketball career, and also in my academic career and goals. I would like to be able to play the game I love and graduate in the major best suited for me to achieve my aspirations in the field that I love.
